Dundalk IT 2-8
St. Marys 2-6
Dundalk IT overcame a very determined St. Marys last night to claim the first ever Division 3 CCAO league title in Darver.

St. Marys started the game far stronger and showed their intentions early with a goal in the first minute. This was followed up with a brace of points from Katie McAleese to extend extend their lead. Dundalk's Elaine Finn opened their account with a well taken point and added a second minutes later from a well taken 45. It looked as if St. Marys had it under control as they lead 1-5 to 0-2 at the break. However Dundalk IT started the second half a new team and with the ever impressive Elaine Finn on form the Louth side started to narrow the margin. With a long range shot from Dundalk's Orla Doyle deceiving the Belfast keeper it was all square entering the final quarter. With Dundalk's defence on top in the second half led by the tireless Aine Keogh DkIT took the lead. Elaine Finn then turned the screw even further and scored DkIT's second goal giving a three point lead. This was closely followed by an Emma Smyth point and two points from Elaine Finn to leave Dundalk 6 points clear. However St. Marys launched a comeback scoring 1-1 in a minute to leave just two points between them. However the Louth side had done just enough to emerge two point winners in an unlikely but well deserved comeback.
