Fr. Meachair Cup 2010

The Fr. Meachair competition will now be hosted by Marino College in St Vincents GAA Grounds on Wednesday the 24th of Feb. Each College is asked to provide a lines person and umpire for each game.

Rules for the day

  •  Allowing fair play rules to apply, the team with fewer players decides the size of the team for each game.

  • Unlimited substitutions for all games

  • Group A Games will be 15 minutes a side with minimum half time turn around.

  • Group B Games will be 10 minutes a side with minimum half time turn around.

  • Win = 2 points, draws = 1 point, loss = 0 points.

  • The top four teams play in the cup semi-finals.

    • First Group A v Second Group B
    • First Group B v Second Group A

  • The remaining three teams play for the Fr. Meachair Shield

    • Shield Semi-Final:  Last Group A v  Last Group B
    • Shield Final: Winner of Semi-Final  v Second Last Group B

  • If teams finish level, scoring difference will be used and if they are still level the result of their match will be used. If they are still level a playoff will be required.

  • All teams to pay a competition fee of €50. This will cover the cost of food and referees
  • All colleges must bring registration form with them on the day

Directions 

From the M50, take the Malahide Road exit on the M1/M50 interchange. Next take a right on to the Malahide towards the city centre. Continue towards the city centre until 400 meters past Donnycarney Church, where upon you take a right into the club.

From the city centre (O'Connell St), take the road out Amiens St towards Fairview. From Fairview, take a left off the Clontarf Road up the Malahide Road. Continue past the Griffith Avenue junction, for 400 meters and take a left into the club
